"Michelle Rodriguez (Lost's "Ana Lucia Cortez") is set to star in and co-produce Trópico de Sangre, a film based on the Dominican Republic's historic Mirabal sisters who were assassinated in 1960 by Rafael L. Trujillo for opposing his dictatorship. Michelle portrays the lead role of Minerva Mirabal. Actresses Claudette Lalí and Celinés Toribio costar as her sisters.
Awesome. And the film comes late enough to avoid any controversy with the Dominican Republic's election year. Great timing Michelle, good luck with this one and when you're done come by Washington Heights for some El Presidente... don't worry "San Juan car service" can drive you back to your Midtown hotel.
