Yeah that is horrible :P
I can't understand that they STILL dub the shows, like in this French trailer and in Germany and Spain. What's wrong with subtitles? Every other none English speaking country use them.
all programm are in french, that's the real problem here -_-
These are awesome! I love seeing the show dubbed in French. Sawyer and Locke sound so funny in the different voices. LOL. I wonder how they do Sawyer's southern accent in French. Does he sound like an Southern American speaking french?
The accents are a big problem. In the german version you can´t really hear that Des is scottish, Charly english and Sawyer southern. To imitate these accents in another language would be ridiculous.
But I must admit, at least in germany they do a very good job with the dubbing. Even most of the voices do match with the original voices and for people who don´t speak english very well it´s more convenient than to read subtitles.
I don´t care much because I don´t watch it on TV, but I wish they would offer different languages on several audiochannels. Technically that should be possible and it would help upgrading the english of so many german pupils and students. You can see that in scandinavia where every movie is displayed in original version. a
In South America, we get all series with subtitles, but that's for the DirecTv/cable channels. (AXN, FOX, Sony Entertainment Television, Warner, Universal, etc)
If you watch national tv, though, you'll get it dubbed... which is annoying, specially if you began to watch the series in English only.
Even if I love the French language, I agree the voices are horrible, specially Locke's and Sawyer's. The bad thing about dubbing is you miss so much things: the accents, for example... also, sometimes, I see the jokes/phrases almost totally differ from the originals, you can note this mostly in the subbed versions... and, imo, that sucks.
I actually think the dubbing seems well-done and the voices, especially Daniel's and Sawyer's, are for the most part good matches. Locke's is hysterical, though! I'm afraid he's going to break into a Maurice Chevalier song at any moment!
HAHAHAHA Awesome voices

I totally agree!
Thank god they never dub anything on swedish television, I cant even imagine a show like Lost being dubbed because so much have to be left out. Hell, sometimes I even complain about the subtitles because they loose so much of the words true meaning in translation. I remember how I screamed at my television when the subtitles translated Hurleys "Australia is the key to the hole game" into something like "Dont sell Australia" in the scene where they were playing Risk. Then at least people could hear what he actually said instead of reading the crapy translation, when it’s dubbed they cant even do that.
