Yes I guess many people online remember when ABC asked Darlton to do one Sawyer's centric at the beginning of the season 2 but they changed for the story and did one with mike anyway, they filmed a little (i dunno if they filmed the entire episode) but look those unseen promo pic for this episode we'll never see :( and also some pics of the set. I think sawyer's fan deserves to see it after the lack of our conman the last season, I wish the next season we'll see more of him...

They should have went with the Sawyer centric, as the Michael one just seemed a repetitive rehashing of one of his earlier flashbacks.
It would be interesting to hear what the back story would have been on this episode. Hopefully when Lost finishes the writers wll release the information.
Josh looks so sexy and beautiful there!. This is probably the "Tampa Job"..
Anyone know anymore about it? It's surprising they actually went ahead and wrote and filmed it and then scrapped it.
I think ur right...i think it was probs the tampa job. but it could have just been another standard con. it's a shame esp considering we didnt get a sawyer centric s4. i understand why they were hesitant to do flashbacks but they shld make up for it in s5.
I can understand the Sawyer fans wanting to see this of course. And looking at Josh is always preferable to watching another boring Michael epi, but why can't they give Sawyer a story that doesn't involve the same tired conning a pretty woman plot? I really hope season 5 lets Josh stretch his acting muscles
On one hand I'm glad they changed it. Michael's story was more relevent to the island plot, and it was completely the wrong time to be focusing on Sawyer's issues. On the other hand, it's a shame it took them so long to realise that, because that Michael flashback looked like it was written in ten minutes.

When I see his long hair on the first new pictures I think more of some shots of his new movie 'Stay cool'!
The others are rather old, are from a deleted scene in 2005!

Whilst it wasn't a Sawyer-centric episode, season 3's "The Brig" had some fantastic material for Sawyer. He's not likely to be stretched much more than that.
Since one of the pictures includes Sawyer's fellow con man (don’t remember his name) from the Long Con, this certainly does look like another con being perpetrated, perhaps the infamous Tampa Job. Or perhaps the flashback was reworked to be used in the Long Con. I doubt we'll ever see the Tampa Job since Hibbs (a.k.a. Robert Patrick) is on the Unit on CBS and CBS would never release him to do it, (just like they wouldn't release Nestor when he was on Cane.) And from what was said in the flashbacks in Outlaws, I think Hibbs would have to be part of the Tampa Job if they ever decided to do it. Still, it would be interesting to know what this flashback would have been about. And I seriously hope Sawyer gets a bigger role next season. Even though what there was good, it was still frustrating for me as a Sawyer fan that he was more or less sidelined for a lot of the shortened season.
Josh looks really good in these pics but I think his backstory is very played out. I really wouldn't want to see him conning/sexing up women anymore. That's been done. No wonder they never aired it. Boring! But still Josh looks hot. Thanks for the pics anyways.

Looks like the material just got reworked into the Long Con episode. I don't think we missed much. Michael had just lost his son, so it really needed to be a Michael episode.
That was definitely the Tampa job. Damn right we'll never see it. Josh is so devastatingly handsome.

Well it looks like this is the second sawyer episode we'll never see (the brig was also originally going to be about Sawyer). That one was an even bigger shame because we didnt get to see what they doing with the psychic storyline.
To be honest with the closing of season 4, I dont think there'll be many flashbacks left and they might be changing the format in a signifcant way so the few (potential) flashbacks we have left might never be done (ie. The Tampa Job, why Desmond was in prison, The Basra Incident)
However I do hope they do the tampa job because I recall that Nathan Fillion might have played some part in it :)
I'm a big Sawyer fan but the missing flashback I regret the most is Danielle's. There was so much more to be told about a woman whose story of her sixteen years on the Island I never quite believed.
I'm intrigued about the psychic storyline and what does he have to do with James. I would love to see it all, but specially that one.
It's a shame we'll never see any of this :(

There will be more FLASHBACKS in Season 5 "FOR SURE" because they will be showing us a Flashback regarding the Dharma Initiative and the Island and how it all played out to this point.
